Begin with the movement you need
Do not choose by motor count alone. Start with the positions the person uses each day and whether they want the backrest and footrest to move together or separately.
Every riser action should also bring the chair forward and upward for standing. Try that movement slowly and make sure the person feels steady at the top.
Single motor keeps things simple
A single-motor riser recliner links its main movements. Raising the footrest also changes the back position, so there are fewer choices and usually fewer buttons.
That simplicity can suit someone who wants straightforward standing help and a comfortable recline without adjusting several parts independently.
Dual motor adds independent control
A dual-motor chair can raise the legs while keeping the back more upright, or lower the back without fully raising the footrest. This gives more choice for reading, television and rest.
More control also means more buttons. Ask the person using the chair to find their preferred upright and relaxed positions without prompting.
Cloud Zero adds seat tilt
Celebrity Cloud Zero uses a third motor for independent seat tilt. The backrest, footrest and seat angle can be adjusted to create a wider range of supported positions.
This flexibility may suit someone who spends longer in the chair. It is not automatically better for everyone, so compare it with a well-fitting dual-motor model.
Try the handset, not just the movement
Button layout varies by model and production date. Check the labels, grip and cable, and make sure there is an obvious route back to a familiar seated position.
Run the complete action twice. The second attempt shows whether the controls still make sense after the first explanation has finished.
